You’ve heard it right—the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has modified the CSA program, and guess what? The CSA Scores are back online.

When Congress passed the FAST Act/Highway Bill last year, they instructed the FMCSA to remove CSA scores from public view until certain reporting problems could be fixed. The FMCSA has come back with their solution, and has now started posting the scores on an absolute basis instead of one that compares carriers to each other. There are many considerations to this, but suffice it to say that with this move the FMCSA has once again created uncertainty for shippers and carriers.

Watch this week’s video to find out one important change that’s been made to these scores.

How can you prevent this? Use a carrier monitoring and vetting program like Shipper Shield. It provides information from the Department of Transportation, FMCSA's CSA scores, as well as other critically important information such as the carrier's insurance coverage, certificates of insurance, financial data and more—and it keeps all this information in one easily accessible location for you!
