Last week we talked about supply chain risks and one of our viewers shared a story about truckloads of walnuts and pistachios being stolen by thieves who hacked into farmers’ computer systems to falsify documents. A truckload of walnuts can cost as much as $300,000 and over the last couple of months there have been 31 instances totaling over four million dollars. If you’re not confident in the security of your transportation systems, now is a time to take a closer look.

Another area where you want to make sure you’re covered is in your carrier selection. A few weeks ago the FMCSA defined what a high risk carrier looks like: a score of ninety percent or higher in two of the thresholds. Are you using any high risk carriers? If you’re not sure, one option is to take advantage of our Shipper Shield program. We can provide you with a comprehensive set of facts for every carrier you're doing business with, including DOT data, FMCSA data, insurance data, and financial data.

We're on your team, we're here to help, and we're passionate about seeing you be successful. We encourage you give us a call at 630-833-0890 or send us an email if you have any questions or we can help in any way.
