SDDC Comments on Fuel Surcharge Adjustment During the Government Shutdown

It is October 16th and the Federal Government has been shut down for 16 days; one of the affected areas is the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) publishing a diesel fuel report. The EIA website states that, “EIA is closed due to a lapse in appropriations. EIA will not update its website until the agency reopens”. Transportation industry stakeholders have asked the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) to issue an official notice to alleviate any uncertain interpretations by the Government Services Administration (GSA) audit division.

In an official notice released by the SDDC yesterday, the SDDC will maintain the October 7th week’s national average diesel fuel price of $3.897 per gallon, until the Department of Energy reopens.
