Do You Hire Veterans?
One of the many tragedies of the "Great Recession" has been the stubbornly high unemployment rate experienced by our returning veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In 2011, the average unemployment rate for veterans stood at 12.1% and last year fell to 9.9%.
While trending in the right direction, this is still far above the nation's current unemployment rate, which in itself is a poor indicator of the economic devastation felt around the country. We here at TIA would like to begin helping returning veterans connect with employers and ensure their sacrifice on behalf of a grateful nation does not go unrewarded.
