Recently I heard a great message from a preacher. He noted that in some cultures, there is not a word in their vocabulary for problems—what we call a “problem” they see as an opportunity.
Looking ahead to 2019, there is some good news for truckload shippers: Unlike 2018, we believe you’ll be finding more capacity at reasonable prices. That doesn't mean there won't be rate increases, but to expect more moderate ones.
However, if you’re mainly a LTL shipper, you could have some interesting “opportunities” in 2019. The reason for this is because now, more so than ever before, LTL carriers are getting smarter and more sophisticated in their data collection and they are using this information to justify rate increases that could be significant. In this week’s video we highlight how things like dimensional and density based pricing could impact freight budgets for LTL oriented shippers. Your company could see increases above what you’re forecasting or expecting.
