The 2:00 Minute Warning with Mike Regan

A Look Into the Crystal Ball to See What Shippers Can Expect in the Freight Marketplace in 2022

Written by Mike Regan | Nov 24, 2021

It’s getting to be that time of the year when shippers are asking us to dust off our crystal ball and offer our thoughts and predictions about what the freight markets will look like in 2022.

For those of you who are super busy and want the “Cliff Notes” version, here are a few of the things we’re anticipating:

- Tight capacity will continue in all modes throughout the year.

- Carriers' use of “targeted pricing” to maximize the value of their assets will create sourcing challenges for shippers – especially LTL and parcel shippers.

- Constraints in the marketplace will impact carriers' cost structures and result in higher rates and accessorial charges, and affect their ability to provide the service levels they’ve had in the past.

Now for those of you who want to actually understand what this all means and how these factors will affect your freight costs in 2022, we’re doing more than just checking out the crystal ball.

Working with our friends from NASSTRAC and CSCMP, next Friday December 3, at 11am Central we will be hosting an extremely important webinar: “A C-Level Look at the Road Ahead For 2022.” What makes this webinar unique is that you’ll be hearing hear directly from CEOs of some of the largest transportation companies.

Here’s who is on the panel:

  • Dave Yeager - CEO, Hub Group
  • Darren Hawkins - CEO, Yellow
  • Eric Fuller - CEO, U.S. Xpress
  • Peter Tirschwell - VP, Maritime & Trade at IHS Markit

Of course, just like every other TranzAct, NASSTRAC and CSCMP webinar, we will welcome your questions and look forward to sharing some very important information with you.

So, while I don’t know what your calendar looks like, one thing I do know is that by attending this webinar you will be hearing from some great resources and by the end, you will have a much better understanding of what to expect in the freight markets in 2022.

And as always, if you have questions or want to discuss solutions that can help you manage and reduce those freight costs, we are here to help and support your goals and objectives. We encourage you to contact us about any specific question you have in mind or send us an email.
