Don't Let "Icebergs" Sink Your Supply Chain Ships!

Apr 24, 2019

Folks, with the worst of the Perfect Storm now a fading memory, I was a bit concerned by a warning a C-Level trucking executive has been giving to shippers: Don’t become complacent!

When I asked why he was issuing this warning he said: “Mike, a bunch of shippers are reverting back to practicing some 'bad habits'.” He went on to note that in 2018, when capacity was extremely tight, every shipper said they wanted to “partner” with their carriers and be a “Shipper of Choice.” But apparently some of these shippers have developed amnesia and have forgotten what that means.

His advice to shippers makes a lot of sense to me: Being a Shipper of Choice isn’t a “seasonal” option. In other words, it’s not just for when capacity is tight. The time to prove you're committed to being a Shipper of Choice is throughout the year. The reason this is so important is because it can make all the difference in the world in helping your company get freight moved at a reasonable price - regardless of the conditions in the marketplace.

At TranzAct we are committed to supporting and working with companies who are committed to being that Shipper of Choice. And that is why we’ve offered several resources for this such as our popular Carriers’ View of Carrier-Friendly White Paper, or the resources and interviews with carrier executives in our Transportation Storm Center.

As always, we’re just one phone call or email away from being able to personally answer your questions or assist you in providing some great cost saving solutions. So I encourage you to reach out to us because we’re on your team, here to help, and passionate about seeing you be successful.
