If you want to get your freight costs under control in 2019, here is a great resolution for you!

Dec 17, 2018

With the start of a new year on the horizon, it’s time to consider some great resolutions. With 2018 having been a tough year for managing freight budgets, a whole bunch of companies are looking at the changes they need to make so that they can manage and reduce their freight costs.

If you’re managing transportation and trying to decide what major change to make next year to bring costs down, here is a great resolution to consider: Know who to ask and when to ask for help. You see, throughout the year I get to meet some very capable and competent transportation professionals and they share a couple of things in common.

First, they are committed to doing a great job for their companies so they understand the need to do an effective job of managing their transportation costs. Second, given the fact that they are tasked with an overwhelming number of responsibilities, and the constant increases in complexity and reductions in capacity, actually controlling those costs can be a daunting challenge.

So as you head into 2019, why not make a resolution that you will have a more successful year in 2019 by reaching out and taking advantage of resources that can make your job easier and produce some outstanding results.

Fortunately, there are some great resources available to you. For example, on January 21-23, the National Industrial Transportation League will be holding its Annual Summit and there will some great content for you to use.

And you can take advantage of partners who are committed to your success. Here at TranzAct we are all about helping our customers produce outstanding results. For example one of the ways we’ve helped shippers over the decades is by producing accurate data through our freight audit and payment services, as featured in a recent Journal of Commerce article "Tech transforming payment services into shipper intelligence".
