As far as impact to supply chains, it’s too early to thoroughly understand how these hurricanes will affect companies in the long run. That said, I recently posted a blog that highlighted some factors that will immediately increase freight costs.
We've also been tracking what some industry experts are referring to as "The Perfect Storm" that will hit transportation budgets hard in 2018. According to these experts, shippers will see a significant tightening in the truckload marketplace and that service requirements may change because of infrastructure disruptions.
