How to Find a Truck at a Reasonable Price

Jan 25, 2018

How hard is it to find a truck right now? Consider the following:

recent WSJ article commented that, “By the end of last week, just one truck was available for every 12 loads needing to be shipped,” making for the tightest market since October 2005 post Hurricane Katrina.

I received a note from a colleague this week telling me, "Your 2 Minute Warnings are right on and scary for shippers. Availability and canceled loads are killing us...and we are a good shipper."

Countless articles are alerting shippers about the challenges and rate increases, including this recent article from Logistics Management about trucking conditions.

And on top of this all, I’ve been hearing from executive after executive at trucking companies that they’re spending more time turning away business than accepting it!

In this week's Two Minute Warning we cover a couple of points to consider if you want to find trucks at a reasonable price. And remember one thing—in this environment where capacity is very tight, take a good look at your carrier relationships. We share several tips for building these relationships in our white paper Carriers’ View of Carrier-Friendly and in this week’s video.
