Today is the 39th birthday of TranzAct Technologies.
When Don Kehoe and I started TranzAct back in 1984, we came up with a simple idea: Do things right! Specifically, with our superior freight audit and payment capabilities we would pay the carriers the right amount at the right time and provide our customers with the right data - data that helps them manage their business. It has proven to be a winning formula.
Early on, Don and I agreed that we would listen to customers, welcome all requests, and have a pioneering spirit. So when a customer would ask the "Can you do this?" question, we would ask ourselves three questions: “Is it honest and ethical? Can we do it well? And can we make a reasonable return in doing it?” If the answer was "Yes" to all three questions, we would do it. And that is why TranzAct has a storied legacy of being the first company to introduce many features which today are considered as standard features in the third party logistics space.
Through organic growth and subsequent acquisitions, we grew beyond our freight audit and payment offering to other areas and with the launch of Freedom Logistics in 1995, were among the first companies to demonstrate how shippers could control their LTL costs. Our continued expansion into consulting services, truckload brokerage, and additional technology offerings like our Constellation TMS, and managed services has enabled TranzAct to help companies not just manage and reduce their transportation costs but also to help them improve their supply chain capabilities.
Today, the commitment that we make to our customers remains the same one that we made 39 years ago: “Performance, not promises.” And that is why many of our customers have come to us when the competition didn’t live up to their promises. We recognize that we can be different than many other companies by simply doing what we say we’re going to do.
Going forward, we’re very excited about what the future holds. There are all sorts of opportunities we’re looking at, such as: How will artificial intelligence change activities within the supply chain, or how will new technologies be useful to help companies use predictive analytics to see into the future and implement digital transformations that will help them run their businesses better?
A special thank you to all our customers throughout the world for taking part in this journey with us. We've benefited greatly from working with people at companies of all sizes and many different industries, and couldn't do it without you.
If you're not a customer and you’d like to learn more about how to partner with TranzAct to lower costs, save money and improve your supply chain capabilities, simply send us an email or give us a call. We’d love to have that conversation with you.
