Things that could impact your transportation budgets in 2017

It's that time of year when I field calls and emails from transportation professionals who are preparing their budgets for next year and want our insights on the types of issues that could impact them. For 2017, there are many issues that could have a big impact—here are two of them:

1. The FMCSA issued a rule which said that by the end of 2017 all carriers must be ELD compliant. However, a court recently agreed to hear a case about this brought to them by the OOIDA.

2. The National Classification Committee has proposed changing some language on the uniform bill of lading that could impact the amount that you're paid if something happens to your freight.
