Transportation Weather Report From The Stifel Conference: Capacity Storm On The Way
Feb 23, 2017
Last week I attended one of my favorite events: the Annual Stifel Transportation Investor Conference. Throughout the conference there was one consistent theme: carriers foresee tight capacity in the latter half of 2017 and on into 2018. And tighter capacity means higher rates!
I moderated a panel discussion featuring shippers from Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Cargill and Niagara Bottling, and the shippers on my panel - as well as many other shippers at the conference - said they’re experiencing a relatively balanced market and rates are stable. But after talking with all these carriers I can’t help but ask: are we seeing the calm before the storm?
If you’re concerned about how good your rates are, have us benchmark your rates for no cost.
Don’t forget: we’re on your team, we're here to help, and we are passionate about seeing you be successful. If you have any questions or comments, please give us a call at 630-833-0890 or send us an email.
