Stop Being Surprised! Join Us for Our Red Sea Update Webcast With Our Friends From CSCMP and the NIT League!

Jan 31, 2024

Tomorrow TranzAct will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary!  And that brought back some memories about what Don Kehoe and I envisioned when we started TranzAct on February 1, 1984.

We committed that we would use our expertise in transportation, logistics and the supply chain as a competitive advantage to make sure our customers were always informed about critical issues which could affect their freight or supply chain areas.

That is why alongside celebrating our birthday, we are inviting and encouraging you to attend our special webcast, “From Critical to Crisis: An Update on the Red Sea” that we'll be hosting on February 7, at 4:00pm CST with our friends from CSCMP’s Transportation Center of Excellence and the NIT League. We will be describing how this potential crisis could affect your supply chain.

One of the reasons we are so passionate about this subject is that the situation in the Red Sea, as well as the drought in the Panama Canal, has created a lot of uncertainty about what shippers can expect to see in the ocean markets for 2024. We don’t want people to be “surprised” by what is occurring. And that begs the question: when it comes to managing your company’s supply chain, how much are you planning for the problems ahead?

Several years ago I attended a conference where the speaker reminded us about the importance of setting goals and objectives, then writing them down. The speaker also reminded us of the words of wisdom from Benjamin Franklin: If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail.

This week we're encouraging you to make time for planning despite all the different matters that may fill up your schedule. And that is why we strongly recommend signing up for the Red Sea webcast on February 7 at 4:00pm Central.

We’re thrilled to bring together such a fantastic panel for the webinar:

Peter Tirschwell is a VP from the Journal of Commerce who has decades of experience following the ocean market.
Ron Marotta is a VP at Yusen Logistics, which is in the field working with ocean shipments and related concerns.
John Janson, is from SanMar, a large shipper that is actively dealing with the uncertainties in the market.

I'll be moderating the webinar and look forward to hearing any questions.

In addition to the Red Sea situation, we’ll cover other ocean shipping items to watch, such as the negotiations with the ILA at the East Coast ports.

Since many of you will be busy during the time of the webinar, we'll be sending out the recording. We hope you can hear it live or latter, and encourage you to invite others.

Finally, since it is our 40th Anniversary, we want to say “THANK YOU” to our customers and associates that have enabled us to grow from a small office in Illinois to a global company with team members around the world. It is because of your support that we have been able to make this successful journey.
