Watch Out for New Bill of Lading Regulations

A few weeks ago, the National Motor Freight Traffic Association made changes to the language on the back of Bills of Lading. The changes affect who is liable when freight is damaged and alter the burden of proof, amongst other things. While industry groups such as NASSTRAC, TLC, TIA and NIT League have opposed these changes and have filed petitions with the STB to address this matter, for now these changes are in effect.
