Wondering Where the Economy is Headed in 2022? Check Out this Interview with Gary Shilling!

Jan 12, 2022

How strong is the economy? Will there be hyper inflation or will inflation moderate and revert back to historical norms? Is the stock market overvalued with a correction due, or will it go even higher? What should we expect to see with crypto currencies? And where should we invest our money in 2022?

With all the questions swirling around our economy, most people I talk to are confused as to what is ahead in 2022. The good news is, the TranzAct network has answers. Our recent semi-annual economic forecast with longtime friend and award-winning economist Gary Shilling is now available here!

We’ve been conducting these forecasts for years, but I don’t know that we’ve ever had a more timely conversation with Gary. We asked him to address a wide range of issues, especially where there are conflicting views about what to expect in 2022.

We covered a lot of ground, and what made this interview particularly insightful is Gary's independent thinking, so he doesn’t just parrot the prevailing thoughts out there--he gives well-reasoned analysis backed by his proven track record.

So, you will want to hear his unique perspective on global issues which could have an impact on supply chains or how inflation, labor related issues, or pandemic-related problems are likely to continue affecting the global economy.

Take a listen to Gary’s thoughts on these topics and more, and pass this valuable interview along to your co-workers and friends as well.

One other thing you'll want to learn more about this week is what's happening with vaccine mandates at the border between the United States and Canada.

We recently heard from the Freight Management Association of Canada that "The U.S. and Canadian governments have announced that all essential cross-border travelers, including truck drivers, must be fully vaccinated, beginning January 15 for those entering Canada, and January 22 for those entering the U.S."

While within the United States it was deemed that the mandates would not apply to truck drivers based on the nature of their work, crossing the border may still pose an issue. This is something to keep on your radar if you have shipments crossing this border.
