ATA Petitions Agency For A Postponement Of The New Drivers Rule

The American Trucking Associations has asked the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration to delay the initial  date for new drivers hours of service. The current rules are subject to a court challenge with a ruling possible by July 1. The carrier associating stated that the postponement will allow carriers to better prepare for any changes. The agreement was filed by North American Chassis Pool Cooperative, an organization started by members of American Trucking Associations’ Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference.
