Possible Candidates For Transportation Department Secretary
Published reports have indicated Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is seen as the frontrunner for the post of Secretary of Transportation if current Secretary Ray LaHood steps down.
Other possible contenders including former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and former Rep. Steve LaTourette, R-Ohio. LaHood had stated in the past that he would not serve in Obama’s second term. Recently, La Hood, previously a representative form Peoria, IL has not commented on his plans and may choose to stay if asked.
