Federal Agencies, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Join Forces for Veterans Hiring

As part of a critically important effort to locate jobs for veterans transitioning from service, as well as for their families, federal agencies are partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to hold a free hiring fair and transition summit on March 11-12 in Fort Benning, GA.

The event will feature key federal and state agencies, influential military leaders, innovators in the business and employer community, and local community leaders. The summit features participation by and speakers from Fort Benning, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Services, U.S. Army’s Installation Management Command and Soldier for Life Program, the U.S. Department of Defense’s Transition to Veterans Program Office, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes, and local Chambers of Commerce.

The two-day summit will feature informative and interactive panel events, recruiter training, and facilitated discussions focused on improving competitive employment for service members, veterans, and spouses in addition to a networking reception for employers, senior leaders, and job seekers. All of the lessons learned will bring together job seekers and employers and culminate in a hiring fair and career forum on March 12.

Employers and job seekers can register for the summit for free at www.hiringourheroes.org. For registration questions related to the summit, please contact hiringourheroes@uschamber.com or call 202-463-5807.

Returning servicemen and women become dedicated, hardworking employees who are invaluable in the workplace. Last year, participants in TIA's Veterans Hiring program reported bringing over 100 veterans on board in their companies.
