As a featured blogger for Logistics Management, I enjoy sharing some thoughts and observations about things we are seeing in the transportation marketplace. In this week's blog post I discussed attributes of companies that have great supply chains and how they have used these supply chains to achieve a sustained competitive advantage.
Recently, I attended a conference for CEOs and presidents where I moderated a panel discussion about the value and benefits of having a great supply chain. It was fascinating to learn how some outstanding companies like Home Depot and Walmart have used their supply chains as a competitive asset to beat their competitors. What made this a particularly unique experience though was the fact that during the presentation, I had the opportunity to ask the audience a few questions based on what our resources had just shared.
Last week, we shared an interview we hosted with two LTL carriers that focused on how shippers can work with them best to reduce rates. This week, we’re building on that by sharing some insights about where the LTL industry is headed. This topic came up recently since the Colorado Business Roundtable asked us to share what we’re seeing in terms of trends for the future, and you can listen to the podcast here.
