Broker Files Suit Against Baxter Bailey


On July 30, 2014 a suit was filed against Baxter Bailey in the Federal District Court for Kansas by a freight broker alleging that Baxter Bailey communicated false and misleading information to the broker’s customers, causing some to stop doing business with the broker. 

The suit alleges “Interference with Contractual Relationships”, “Interference with Reasonable Business Relationship and Opportunities”, Violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices At, 15 U.S.C. section 1692 et. seq.”, “Violation of the Kansas Consumer Fraud Act”, “Negligence”, and “Breach of Duty of Good Faith and Fair Dealing”. Under these various state and federal causes of actions, the suit seeks actual damages of $75,000 plus special, treble and punitive damages in an amount to be determined. The case is Charles L. Freeman III, et al v. Baxter Bailey and Associates.
