GSA Announces Move to Electronic Transportation Service Provider Approval 


On Monday, September 21, the General Services Administration (GSA) announced that they will be transitioning their transportation service provider registration process to a digital format. The transition is expected to be complete by November 1, 2015. Until the transition is complete, no new applications will be accepted from Transportation Service Providers.

Government freight, including freight from civilian agencies managed by GSA, is an important part of many TIA member businesses. The TIA Government Freight Committee works to monitor the latest news from government shippers, and developed the 2015 Government Freight Framework to assist TIA members in evaluating whether government freight is a good fit for their business model and provide tips on working with government agencies.
