SDDC Announces DTCI Stop Ship Guidance with Menlo Government Services – Update

The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) issued stop ship guidance for the Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative (DTCI). In the announcement, SDDC promulgated that effective September 20th, all service shipper sites (does not include DLA) are to stop shipping using Menlo Worldwide Logistics. All DTCI eligible requirements for pickup through September 14th – 19th must still be sent to Menlo for support.

Beginning on September 20th, SDDC has specified that service shippers will be utilizing tenders to support their transportation requirements (except DLA), until further notice. Additionally, SDDC recommends for the procedures used after September 19th, please contact your service certificate of responsibility (COR) for assistance. For shipper system assistance contact your shipper system (GFM, CMOS) help desk.

By way of background, the mission of the DTCI was to “Partner with a world-class transportation services provider (3PL) to manage Continental United States (CONUS) distribution of freight for selected Service and DLA shipping locations. Leverage winning coordinator's existing commercial freight volume, with DOD's large freight volume utilizing "best commercial practices" to achieve efficiencies in distribution and associated cost savings.”
