Amazon recently introduced a new logistics service for their third party sellers. The new service allows third parties to order an Amazon truck to pick up their shipments and bring them to Amazon’s fulfillment center, rather than shipping them to Amazon themselves. This could mean extra business for Amazon’s fleet of roughly 6,000 trucks and is another signal that they will continue to increase their involvement in logistics.
For decades, shippers have been using freight audit and payment services to provide core needs such as issuing payments at the right time, using the right rate, and providing accurate information for reporting. While that remains the same, this service has been evolving greatly to meet the current demands for better analytics and faster communication.

It was the fifth such store Amazon has opened in the U.S., and the first one that is outside of a shopping mall. Obviously, this is news in part because the online giant is setting up shops in the real world.
